Powerline Interference Suppression in High-Resolution ECG
نویسندگان
چکیده
The efficacy of four powerline interference suppression methods was tested for application in highresolution electrocardiogram (ECG). The goal was minimal distortion of the original signal micro-potential waveform, combined with maximum noise reduction. Simulated low amplitude His-bundle potentials were used for the evaluation. Several objective parameters were measured, such as mean square error and mean absolute error. The methods were applied for His-bundle potentials recovery from real surface ECG signals. Synchronous intracardiac signals with well expressed His potential were recorded and used for reference. Modified time-domain subtraction and regression subtraction methods were found superior to notch filters and spectral interpolation.

Noise removal techniques play a vital role in the performance of electrocardiographic (ECG) signal processing systems. ECG signals can be corrupted by various kinds of noise such as baseline wander noise, electromyographic interference, and powerline interference. One of the significant challenges in ECG signal processing is the degradation caused by additive 50 or 60 Hz powerline interference....

This paper presents removal of noise from the ECG signal by using Digital filters designed with FIR and IIR technique. The analysis of ECG signal has great importance in the detection of cardiac abnormalities. The ECG signal is preserve of the electrical performance of heart versus time. ECG signal of a normal heart beat consists of a three parts P wave, QRS complex and T wave. The P wave refle...
متن کاملA novel application of the S-transform in removing powerline interference from biomedical signals.
Powerline interference always disturbs recordings of biomedical signals. Numerous methods have been developed to reduce powerline interference. However, most of these techniques not only reduce the interference but also attenuate the 60 Hz power of the biomedical signals themselves. In the present study, we applied the S-transform, which provides an absolute phase of each frequency in a multi-r...

This paper presents novel methods for baseline wander removal and powerline interference removal from electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. Baseline wander and clean ECG have been modeled as 1st and 2nd-order fractional Brownian motion (fBm) processes, respectively. This fractal modeling is utilized to propose projection operator based approach for baseline wander removal. Powerline interference is ...
متن کاملPowerline Interference Reduction in ECG Using Combination of MA Method and IIR Notch
The ECG Signal is a graphical representation of the electromechanical activity of the cardiac system. It is one of the most important physiological parameter, which is being extensively used for knowing the state of cardiac patients. For diagnostic quality ECG recordings, signal acquisition must be noise free. Since ECG signals are only of the order of 1 mV in amplitude, the ECG acquisition is ...
